We Are The Descendants of
Lewis and Carrie Choice Dirton
Lewis and Carrie Choice Dirton had 13 children. There were 5 girls: Suner, Mamie and Carrie Dirton, Luceal Dirton Coleman and Carmellia Dirton Sizemore; and 8 boys: Ellie, Will, George, Silas, Otis, Ed, Emiziah and Lee Dirton.
Suner Dirton had 3 girls and 5 boys respectively. Cassie Dirton Wilson, Geneva Dirton Lomax, Annie Dirton Watley, Melvin, Lewis, Jim, Buster and Connell Dirton.
The 4 children of Luceal Dirton Coleman are Catherine, Eunice, Betty Jo and Ottis Coleman.
Carmellia and Abraham Sizemore had 3 sons who are JD, James and Charles Sizemore.
Will Dirton had a son, Jim Lewis Dirton.
Ed Dirton and Martha Maxwell Dirton were the parents of Ed Jr. and Mamie Dirton.
Emiziah and Lula Evans Dirton had 10 children. The 3 girls are Aurelia Dirton Blassingame, Carrie Lou Dirton Smith and Earline Dirton. The 7 boys were Elliott Dirton, Willie Dirton, Emiziah Dirton Jr., Clyde Dirton Sr., JC Dirton Sr., Furman Dirton Sr., and Lee Dirton.
Now there were 7 children born to the union of W.M. Blassingame and Mary Jane Scott Blassingame. The 4 girls are Fannie Blassingame Warden, Lula M. Blassingame, Mary Blassingame and Martha Blassingame. There were 3 boys: C.H. Blassingame, Issac Blassingame and William Clarence Blassingame.
Prior to the 2003 reunion; Patricia Westfield, Faye Dirton, Violita Dirton and myself-Sabrina Sewell took a trip to SC Archives located in Columbia, South Carolina. The objective of the visit was to see if we could expand our knowledge of the Dirton family history. This is where we gathered much of the information listed above.
